ALBERTSON, N.C. (AP) - The North Carolina Highway Patrol says a snow-coated road is to blame for a traffic accident in which a motorist was killed.

The patrol told local media that a vehicle headed north on a road west of Albertson in Duplin County crossed the center line on Monday, spun out and hit another car on the passenger side. The unidentified driver in the first car was killed, while the other driver was taken to a local hospital.

Authorities haven’t released the identities of those involved.
