MOHRSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say an early morning fire that gutted a mobile home in eastern Pennsylvania has claimed the lives of a man and a woman.
Officials in Berks County say neighbors reported the blaze in Centre Township near Centerport just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Fire crews got the fire under control in about 20 minutes and found a man and a woman dead in a bedroom. State police identified them as 57-year-old Scott Taulker and 74-year-old Maureen Taulker.
Trooper Janssen Herb, a state police fire marshal, said the fire started in the center of the mobile home, but the damage was so severe it may be difficult to pinpoint a cause. No smoke detectors were immediately found.
Three dogs and at least two cats were also found dead after the fire.
