PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island has a new leader.
The Providence hospital announced Monday that Rick Majzun will take over as president and chief operating officer effective July 23.
Majzun comes to Women & Infants from Barnes Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri.
Dr. James Fanale, president and chief executive officer of Care New England, the hospital’s parent company, says Mazjun was chosen because of a “demonstrated track record of success.”
Mazjun says he has long admired the reputation and care offered at Women & Infants and is “excited to lead this pre-eminent organization.”
Women & Infants is major teaching affiliate of Brown University’s medical school and the largest stand-alone alone obstetrical service in New England with about 8,500 deliveries per year.
