TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s computers remain down following a statewide server error over the weekend.

Officials say most of the systems affected by the problem were restored and operating by Monday morning. But the MVC computer system that processes payment remained out of service on Monday, and it’s not clear when it will be restored.

The state Information Technology system that apparently went down Saturday is used by all state agencies. Technicians then worked throughout the weekend to repair the problems.

MVC officials say an advisory will be posted on the agency’s website when the payment system is repaired.

Further details on what caused the server problems have not been disclosed.
