DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - Police officials at Western Connecticut State University are giving the all clear.
The school was locked down as police investigated an unconfirmed report of a person on campus with a gun.
School officials say the report was a misunderstanding that turned out to be an employee with a microphone stand.
Mayor Mark Boughton tweeted “All clear. Thankfully Westconn safe.”
In a tweet issued Monday, the Connecticut State Police said there is no active shooter and no shots have been fired.
Danbury Public Schools and Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury have also re-opened.
