BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is reminding people that fireworks are banned on state wildlife management areas.
The areas are set aside to enhance wildlife production and provide outdoors opportunities including hunting and fishing. They’re popular destinations during the Fourth of July period, but officials say fireworks can disrupt wildlife and cause wildfires.
Game and Fish also is asking outdoors enthusiasts to keep public use areas clean by putting their trash in bins or taking it back home with them if no bins are available.
