LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania newspaper that traces its roots back 224 years will have a woman as president for the first time.

Steinman Communications announced that it is promoting chief information officer Caroline Muraro to president of LNP newspaper and its website, lancasteronline.com

The 52-year-old Muraro will take over the post Sunday. It had been vacant for three years.



Muraro joined Steinman in 2013 after more than a decade at a publishing company.

She also previously worked as director of information systems for Times Mirror and manager of production systems for The Morning Call.

Steinman CEO Robert Krasne remains LNP’s publisher.
