HOLBROOK, Ariz. (AP) - A brush fire has forced the closure of Interstate 40 in Arizona and authorities can’t say when the roadway will reopen.

State transportation officials say both directions of the interstate are closed about 40 miles east of Holbrook. They’re warning drivers to delay traveling through the area as there are no nearby alternate routes.

The transportation department did not provide any details about the fire.
