CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia will participate in a motorcycle ride honoring fallen U.S. service members.

The fourth annual Ride for Fallen Service Heroes will be held Saturday. The round-trip ride will travel from South Charleston to Millwood, ending in a free picnic at the National Guard headquarters at Coonskin Park in Charleston.

Manchin says in a news release the ride is one way to honor the service of the nation’s service members “and it’s a profound honor to be part of it.”

The ride will benefit the West Virginia National Guard Foundation, the families of fallen service members and the establishment of a new Gold Star monument in West Virginia.
