BERLIN, Vt. (AP) - The Central Vermont Public Safety Authority is searching for a site for its regional emergency communications center.
The Times Argus reports Executive Director Francis Aumand released a “request for information” Monday to evaluate costs with the proposed facility. The move would consolidate dispatch centers in Barre and Montpelier.
Aumand hopes the authority can gain a general idea concerning real estate from the informational request.
The authority needs at least 2,500 square feet in its proposed facility. Officials say they are also searching for a location with multiple access points and a redundant power supply.
Capital Fire Mutual Aid System still needs to decide if it will join the authority. Responses to the information request are due by 3 p.m. on July 19.
