TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Police have arrested a maintenance worker who is accused of breaking into a University of Alabama student’s apartment.
The Tuscaloosa News reports the victim reported on Friday that she had security footage showing 60-year-old Theodore Williams entering her room at Campus Evolution Village.
The student had no maintenance scheduled for that day and reported that a watch worth around $2,000 was missing from her belongings. Court records show Williams had a master key that gave him access to each unit in the complex.
Tuscaloosa police spokeswoman Lt. Teena Richardson says Williams was arrested Friday and that some of the victim’s property has been located.
Williams was charged with third-degree burglary and was later released from jail on a $15,000 bond. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
