DUDLEY, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts high school student says he was forced to miss the last day of school because another student falsely accused him of making a threat.
WBZ-TV reports 16-year-old Cosmo Casamassa spent his Thursday at home instead of Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley. School administrators and police told him not to come because another student said he was a threat.
Casamassa’s stepmother says he never threatened anyone, and he doesn’t have access to weapons.
Casamassa has Asperger’s syndrome, which is a mild form of autism. He says bullies have been calling him “school shooter” all year because he is “kind of weird.”
Dudley-Charlton School Superintendent Gregg Desto says they decided to err on the side of caution.
Still, Casamassa says he wanted to say goodbye to his teachers.
