RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say a car fire sparked the wild land blaze that prompted evacuations and road closures in northern Nevada earlier this week.
The Sierra Front Incident Management Team said Thursday the Upper Colony Fire that burned about 2 square miles (5 square kilometers) in the Smith Valley southeast of Carson City is now about three-quarters contained.
All evacuation orders have been lifted and full containment is expected by June 27.
Officials say a vehicle traveling in the valley caught on fire Sunday afternoon and erratic winds quickly pushed the flames into neighboring brush.
No structures were damaged and no injuries reported.
