Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky” franchise that began in 1976 showed plenty of life on Monday with the release of his “Creed II” trailer.

Fans of “Rocky IV” can stand up and cheer: Michael B. Jordan’s “Adonis Johnson” will square off against “Viktor Drago” (Florian Munteanu) over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

“In the ring, you’ve got rules. Outside, you’ve got nothing,” Mr. Stallone’s iconic character says during MGM’s trailer. “Life hits you with all these cheap shots. People like me, we live in the past. You’ve got people who need you now. You’ve got everything to lose. This guy’s got nothing to lose.”

“I ain’t got a choice,” Johnson, the son of Apollo Creed, replies.

“That’s the same thing your father said and he died right here in my hands. Listen to me. This guy, he’s dangerous,” Rocky counters.

“Creed II,” directed by Steven Caple Jr., makes it clear that the bloodline of Dolph Lundgren’s “Ivan Drago” isn’t ready to step away from the sport.

“Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family,” MGM’s YouTube page teases. “’Creed II’ is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.”

The film will domestically debut Nov. 21.
