WESTFORD, Mass. (AP) - A major Massachusetts artery that was shuttered for hours as a result of a transformer fire has re-opened.

State police say both sides of Interstate 495 in Westford were shut down due to transformer fire spreading to low-hanging electrical wire on the highway. No injuries are reported.

The Westford Fire Department and National Grid responded to the scene. No details on what started the fire are available.

Westford is just over 40 miles northwest of Boston.
