It was with sadness that I read the announcement by Charles Krauthammer of his imminent death (“Krauthammer a classic, classy neoconservative intellectual — whether you agreed with him or not,” Web, June 10). He is a man of conscience and a fighter for what he considers to be a worthy cause. With devastating logic, he has demolished the views of his opponents concerning both national and international affairs.

As a consistent foe of the Arab states trying to destroy Israel (as well as the non-Arab nation of Iran and its proxies), Mr. Krauthammer has many times had to single-handedly contradict the falsehoods of the pro-Arab supporters. As far as Iran was concerned, he has been a vocal opponent of the flawed nuclear agreement with Iran, seeing through Tehran’s unreliability and dishonesty.

Mr. Krauthammer also raised the flag about Russia’s seizure of Crimea, its attempt to fragment Ukraine and its support for Syrian President Bashar Assad.

His voice of reason will be sorely missed. His death will come too soon but his legacy will live on.
