MUKILTEO, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve safely captured a bear who appeared in a north Seattle suburb Sunday afternoon.

The Mukilteo police department said on Twitter that it was assisting the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife as they worked to contain the black bear stuck in a tree.

The police posted a photo of the bear, which they said appeared to be 120 to 150 pounds (54 to 68 kilograms).

KING-TV reports that a woman initially reported seeing the bear on her porch.

Wildlife officials had chased it to an area near Kamiak High School, where dogs then ran the bear up into the tree.

Officials were able to tranquilize the bear and capture it for relocation.
