HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) - Police have released the names of the three people who died in a single-vehicle crash in Connecticut last weekend.
The crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in Hamden near the intersection of Whitney Avenue and Route 40.
Police on Tuesday announced that the driver, 21-year-old Maksims Frolovs, of Monroe, died along with his passengers, 26-year-old Edmonds Mihalenkos, of Bridgeport, and 29-year-old Hiadlas DeOliveira, of Derby. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle sped out of the Route 40 Connector, crossed over four lanes of Whitney Avenue, and struck a tree.
The crash remains under investigation.
