NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A chemical company says it will build its global headquarters in South Carolina.
State and company officials said Wednesday that Ingevity will build a headquarters in North Charleston to accommodate at least 100 jobs.
Ingevity makes specialty chemicals and carbon materials. The company uses wood-based raw materials to create products for a variety of uses, including asphalt paving, oil exploration and production, agrochemicals, adhesives and automotive parts.
the company’s technical center in North Charleston currently houses its headquarters.
Construction is expected to begin later this year, with completion expected by early 2020.
