Gilbert police investigate woman’s death, body found in lake

GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Gilbert are investigating the death of an elderly woman whose body has been found in a neighborhood lake.

They say a maintenance worker spotted the body floating in the lake Tuesday morning and called 911.

Emergency responders were able to pull the woman from the lake in The Islands community.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the woman hasn’t been identified yet and it’s unclear how or why she entered the lake.
