GOSHEN, Ind. (AP) - A northern Indiana coroner has ruled the death of a woman pinned under a riding lawnmower was an accidental asphyxiation.
Elkhart County Coroner James Elliot performed an autopsy Tuesday and said the cause of death for 46-year-old Syma DiCarlo was found to be traumatic asphyxia.
First responders found DiCarlo lying face down beneath her riding lawnmower shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday outside a Goshen home.
Goshen police say the circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
Police say DiCarlo owned a mowing service.
