ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) - A 20-year-old man has pleaded guilty to threatening a Maine high school on social media.

Court documents show Thomas Sawyer received a one-year deferred sentence after pleading guilty to terrorizing July 12.

Authorities say Sawyer threatened Oceanside High School in Rockland in March.

Police stepped up security at the school following the threats, but officials say there was no danger to students.

Sawyer will only serve four months in jail if he stays out of trouble and completes mental health and substance abuse counseling.
