Edwards attending national governors’ meeting in New Mexico

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana’s governor is spending the weekend in New Mexico to meet with the nation’s other governors.

Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards and his wife Donna traveled to Sante Fe on Friday for the National Governor’s Association summer meeting, a bipartisan gathering of governors from around the country.

Among the plans, Edwards will speak at a session entitled “Pharmaceutical Innovation: Ensuring Access and Fiscal Sustainability.”

The governor’s office said Edwards and his wife return to Louisiana on Sunday.
