The Washington Nationals are in Pittsburgh for a series with the Pirates this week, and fans who want to watch Wednesday afternoon’s game can look away from the television.
In fact, they will have to.
Facebook Watch is exclusively streaming coverage of the Nationals-Pirates game Wednesday. A Facebook account is required to access the stream.
Yes, tomorrow’s #Nats #Pirates game can only be watched on Facebook. And you have to have a Facebook account. Here are instructions. All complaints should be directed to the guy who created Facebook. Whatever his name is. pic.twitter.com/4nPKD5kiIL

Rich Waltz, FP Santangelo, Sean Casey and Stephen Nelson will provide commentary for what a Nationals press release called “a social-first broadcast.”
Facebook continues to look for ways into the live sports-streaming business. During eight PGA Tour events this season, including the Maryland-based Quicken Loans National two weeks ago, Facebook Watch is providing expanded live coverage of action that would not have otherwise been broadcast on TV.
But Facebook-exclusive games is another animal. Fans voiced their discontent last month when it was the Atlanta Braves’ and Toronto Blue Jays’ turn to play a game not shown on TV the old-fashioned way.
The game is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Eastern.
