SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police in Cottonwood City say they’re investigating the vandalism of Mormon churches on four consecutive nights.

They say four churches have had rocks propelled through the front glass doors since Monday, possibly with the use of a wrist-rocket.

Cottonwood Heights police say there’s no evidence the vandals have tried to enter any of the churches or steal any property and there isn’t enough evidence to call the incidents hate crimes.

They say three of the churches are on Bengal Boulevard with the fourth on Whitmore Way in the city located in Salt Lake County.

Cottonwood Heights has 18 churches in the city and 14 of them are Mormon churches.

Damage to each church is estimated at $1,000.

Police say officers are making extra patrols of every church in the city.
