WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (AP) - An iconic Vermont diner that closed in 2015 may soon get a second chance at life as the current property owner is nearing a deal to sell the diner.
Developer Mike Davidson, who hopes to buy the Polka Dot Restaurant, says they hope to close on the sale within the next few weeks. The Valley News reports current owner Mary Shatney had been seeking $130,000 for the building.
Shatney, who ran the diner for 54 years, says she wants to wait until the sale closes before she comments.
Davidson’s property management company, Ledgeworks, has already hung a banner outside the building advertising for a tenant.
