LYNDON, Vt. (AP) - Officials are planning on turning a former manufacturing facility for a Vermont-based ointment company into a co-working space for startup businesses.
The Caledonian Record reports an official with Lyndon State College said Wednesday their proposal to turn the Bag Balm building into a co-working space has received support from local legislators, the state and the business community.
The college’s Center for Professional Studies announced their plan for the building last year. The proposal states the co-working space will “increase the vibrancy” of downtown Lyndon and “build prosperity” in the village of Lyndonville.
The center’s director Ann Nygard says they have received close to $40,000 in grants and donations for the space.
Nygard says they hope to soon sign a lease and plan for a soft opening in May.
