JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - A man and an infant have been seriously injured in an apartment house fire in New Jersey.
The blaze broke out Wednesday night at a three-story building in Jersey City.
Fire officials say crews pulled a man from the basement of the building, where they believe the fire started. He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Officials say first responders resuscitated an infant at the scene who was not breathing. The baby was taken to a hospital. Its condition was not immediately known.
A third person suffered a cut on their hand while trying to flee down the building’s fire escape.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
