HAW RIVER, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina pedestrian who was struck by a train has died.

News outlets report 40-year-old Michael Reynolds was pronounced dead at the scene in Alamance County on Sunday afternoon. Haw River police say in a press release that a preliminary investigation shows Reynolds was walking eastbound on the railroad tracks when he was struck by an Amtrak train also traveling eastbound.

No train passengers or personnel were hurt.



An investigation is ongoing.
