MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Police say a 12-year-old autistic boy has died in a duplex fire in West Virginia.
Martinsburg police say in a news release that the boy was trapped in the residence after the fire was reported early Monday, and attempts by relatives to rescue him were unsuccessful.
The statement says firefighters were able to remove the boy, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
