BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota’s Game and Fish Department is offering 5,655 wild turkey licenses for the spring hunting season, about the same as last year.

Hunting Unit 21 in Hettinger and Adams counties is closed to turkey hunting again this year due to low turkey numbers there.

Spring turkey licenses are available only to North Dakota residents. The deadline for hunters to apply for a license is Feb. 14.

The spring turkey season opens April 14 and runs through May 20.
