BALTIMORE (AP) - Two young children have been pronounced dead at a hospital after firefighters pulled them out of a burning row house in West Baltimore.
Blair Skinner is a spokeswoman for the Baltimore Fire Department. She says a 1-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl were in cardiac arrest when they were found late Friday inside the home in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood.
They were pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Skinner says a woman identified as the children’s aunt was rescued from the home with non-life-threatening injuries.
Fire officials are not yet naming the victims. The cause of the deadly blaze is under investigation.
Skinner describes the deaths of the young children as a “horrible thing.” On Saturday, she said: “This is not the story we want to tell.”
