SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - More than 6,000 customers are without power as a winter storm moved through eastern Washington.

The National Weather Service says between 2 and 6 inches of snow has been reported in Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille and northern Spokane counties.

The Spokesman-Review says the outages mostly affect customers north of Spokane.



Avista Utilities reported 5,940 customers without power as of 8 a.m. Wednesday. The largest cluster of customers affected is along the Columbia River in Ferry and Stevens County.
