ELKO, Nev. (AP) - Elko firefighters say they rescued two dogs and cats trapped in a burning mobile home.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports the single-wide mobile home caught fire Monday morning.

Firefighters say the human residents were able to escape the home, but the pets were trapped in a back bedroom.

As smoke was exiting the home, firefighters were able to go inside and pass the pets to firefighters standing outside through a bedroom window.
