PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say witnesses detained a disoriented driver of a vehicle that drove onto a sidewalk and fatally struck a pedestrian and nearly struck a second pedestrian.

Police say 18-year-old Keten Burke Crawford was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and aggravated assault in the incident Friday night.

The identity of the 49-yer-old man who was killed wasn’t released. The pedestrian who wasn’t injured is a 35-year-old man.

Crawford remains jailed pending an initial court appearance and online court records don’t list an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
