BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) - Authorities are searching for the driver of an SUV who hit a bicyclist near Kendall in Whatcom County.
The Bellingham Herald reports the bike rider, whose name wasn’t released, wasn’t badly injured in the incident Monday, but was taken to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Heather Axtman says the SUV, a blue or silver Ford Explorer, clipped the cyclist on Kendall Road south of Dardu Road.
The driver didn’t stop.
Axtman says the vehicle left debris in the roadway. Troopers found a side mirror and glass from the SUV.
The incident remains under investigation.
