HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (AP) - Authorities say one person has died following a police chase culminating in a single-car crash that injured three others in Maryland.
Maryland State Police say in a release that, on Monday night, a trooper in Cecil County attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a car reported stolen out of Baltimore. Police say 42-year-old Terrence Gibson Sr. failed to stop for at least two troopers, and continued into Harford County with two flat tires resulting from deployed stop sticks.
Police say Gibson lost control and struck a light pole in the median on Route 40 in Havre de Grace.
The car’s passengers, 30-year-old Melissa Ann Williams, 41-year-old Joseph Taylor and 42-year-old Nicole Lashawn King, were transported to hospitals in Delaware and Baltimore. Gibson was pronounced dead at Harford Memorial Hospital.
