MILWAUKEE (AP) - Dozens of schools in northwestern Wisconsin closed as a winter storm descended on the region.
A warm start to the day Thursday was transitioning from rain to snow, sleet and freezing rain. Schools in more than 50 communities closed, including Eau Claire, Menomonie, Neillsville and Ladysmith.
A winter storm warning was posted for Price and Sawyer counties with a winter weather advisory elsewhere in the region. Snow of varying intensity is expected through Thursday.
