Pierre police chief retiring after 28 years with department

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Pierre Police Chief Dave Panzer Jr. is retiring after 28 years with the department.

The 49-year-old Panzer plans to call it a career on March 9.

Panzer joined the Pierre force in 1989 and was appointed chief about four years ago.
