Programming for art center opening next year begins in May

NEW YORK (AP) - Programming for a New York City arts center opening next year is scheduled to begin this spring.

The planned program for the Shed, a new Manhattan arts center, is called “A Prelude to the Shed” and is free. The New York Times reports the show will be a collaborative between architect Kunlé Adeyemi of NLÉ Works and artist Tino Sehgal.

Shed Artistic Director Alex Poots says the 12-day event in May will explore the integration of architecture and choreography in a temporary space.

The program will also feature evening concerts held by rapper Azealia Banks, singer-songwriter Abra and producer Arca.
