SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say an 81-year-old man injured when a vehicle veered onto the sidewalk in front of a Scottsdale supermarket has died.

Scottsdale police announced Wednesday that Michael Ebertin died from his injuries.

He had been hospitalized in serious condition after Tuesday afternoon’s crash.

Police say Ebertin and another man were struck by the SUV and an elderly female passenger in the vehicle also was injured.

They say a 70-year-old woman was driving the vehicle in the parking lot in front of the Safeway before it drove onto the sidewalk and struck the men.

Police haven’t released the names of the other injured man, the female passenger or the 70-year-old driver.

They say the cause of the crash is under investigation, but impairment doesn’t appear to be a factor.
