FRISCO, Colo. (AP) - A report says Summit County issued a record breaking number of permits last year with a total value of $244 million.
According to the Summit County Inspection Department’s 2017 summary report, the department issued 852 building permits.
The Summit Daily News reported Thursday that the county issued 710 permits in 2016 and 644 in 2015.
The total value represented by the permits jumped from $152 million in 2016 to $244 million in 2017.
The number of inspections conducted by the department also increased from nearly 14,000 in 2016 to nearly 17,000 in 2017.
Summit Sky Ranch Development Director Matt Mueller says he believes the building boom in Summit County, which is home to several ski resorts in north-central Colorado, is due to an increase in demand.
