DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police have released officer body camera video of the moments leading to an officer fatally shooting a woman last year.
Police say three officers were in a squad car July 5 that briefly followed a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Tiffany Potter, when Potter sped off, parked in a driveway and fled the vehicle on foot. Police say officers ran after her and found her by a fence. The unsteady video appears to show Potter firing a gun in the air. Potter was then shot by Officer Brandon Holtan.
Police say Holtan fired 12 shots, 10 of them hitting Potter.
In October, a grand jury cleared Holtan and two other officers of any wrongdoing in the shooting.
