COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in central Ohio say a vehicle fleeing from a traffic stop ran off the road, killing the driver and an adult passenger and injuring two children in the car.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said in a release that the crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday after the car’s driver took off from a traffic stop at a high rate of speed and apparently lost control of the vehicle. The car rolled and the driver and the passenger in the front seat were ejected from the car.

Authorities say the adults died at the scene. The children in car seats in the back of the vehicle were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The names of those killed were not released.

The crash remains under investigation.
