The sorry state of the Redskins organization always seems to find a way to get even worse. It’s hard to understand the Dan Snyder-Bruce Allen relationship unless you believe that marriage is made in heaven. These two masterminds live by a code: If it’s broke, don’t fix it.

There must be some kind of incentive for the Redskins to lose. In this case, failure isn’t an option; it’s the goal. You can’t have a business this bad unless you are doing it intentionally. Maybe there’s a tax deduction because it certainly qualifies as a capital loss. They’re at rock bottom with not much left before they’re bankrupt.

Let this be a reminder to all that there are three new professional football leagues on the way. We’re soon going to be hearing a giant sucking sound from the exodus of players leaving the NFL in a vacuum. Do you suppose these new leagues will air the players’ dirty laundry in public, persecute the players at every opportunity and/or fine them for having fun? There’s no chance these new ventures will do anything to harm their golden geese. They will be player-friendly, fan-friendly experiences — and that alone deserves support.

Professional football doesn’t have to be spelled NFL.
