Bravo Chris Wallace, who like many reporters at Fox News of late is starting to behave like a professional journalist rather than a Trump sycophant. Recently, Mr. Wallace astutely interviewed former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and held his feet to the fire on the question of whether President Trump lied about the two felonies for which the federal court in the Southern District of New York has accused him of being an unindicted co-conspirator.

Mr. Giuliani’s attempt to answer follow-up questions was a clear deflection — and Mr. Wallace correctly observed that Mr. Giuliani was nonresponsive, playing a shell game instead of directly answering questions.

That’s exactly what we expect journalists to do in a nonpartisan manner in their quest to unearth the truth and expose the facts. The Fourth Estate is our nation’s best check and balance.
