MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Officials across Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine are watching for flooding after warm weather and heavy rains caused rivers and streams across the region to swell and in some cases overflow their banks.
In Vermont flooding closed roads for a time Friday and Saturday in Middlesex, Moretown, Essex, Sheldon, New Haven and Starksboro. Additional flooding is being reported at a number of other locations across the state.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for parts of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
In Maine, authorities are watching the usual trouble spots like the Kenduskeag Stream in downtown Bangor and the Kennebec River in Augusta and Hallowell.
The threat from flooding will recede as temperatures drop.
