PILGER, Neb. (AP) - A northeast Nebraska village board has suspended the longtime village clerk during an investigation of spending.

The Pilger (PIHL’-gur) board met Thursday evening and announced after a closed session that Kimberly Neiman was being placed on paid administrative leave for unspecified violations of village policies.

A phone listed for Neiman rang busy during several calls Friday by The Associated Press.
