KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee fortified its recruiting class on the second day of the early signing period by adding running back Eric Gray.
Gray, who is from Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, set a Tennessee high school state record with 138 career touchdowns. The 5-foot-10 Gray rushed for over 2,000 yards each of the last three seasons and was the first three-time Mr. Football winner in the state of Tennessee.
Gray is the nation’s No. 171 overall prospect in his class according to composite rankings of recruiting sites compiled by 247Sports. Gray had verbally committed to Michigan before reopening his recruitment on Dec. 1.
Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt says that Gray “has really good hands, runs with power and great vision.”
Gray becomes the 18th recruit to sign with Tennessee this week.
