President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani admitted that his client signed the “bulls—t” letter of intent for the Trump Tower Moscow project.
In an interview with The New York Daily News, which was released late Tuesday night, Mr. Giuliani denied telling CNN the letter was never signed.
“How could you send it but nobody signed it?” he told The New York Daily News.
CNN obtained and published a copy of a letter Tuesday night that proved Mr. Trump and Andrey Rozov, owner of the Russian firm that would have developed the project, both signed the letter.
According to CNN, Mr. Giuliani told the network’s Dana Bash on Sunday, “There was a letter of intent to go forward, but no one signed it.”
Revelations about the secret project surfaced when the president’s former lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about the matter. The deal was something he worked on during the 2016 Republican primaries.
The president defended pursuing the deal as something he did as a private citizen running a business.
